What Is It?
Microneedling with hyaluronic acid (HA) is a two-in-one treatment that combines controlled micro-injury with deep hydration delivery. The microneedling device creates thousands of tiny channels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural collagen and elastin production. At the same time, hyaluronic acid is applied and absorbed directly through those open channels — reaching depths no topical product can achieve on its own.
The result: structural skin remodeling and deep hydration, in a single session.
At Renewal Lab, all microneedling treatments are performed by a board-certified Nurse Practitioner — not an esthetician.
What It Treats
• Fine lines and early wrinkles
• Dull or dehydrated skin
• Enlarged or congested pores
• Uneven skin texture
• Mild acne scarring
• Sun damage and uneven tone
• Preventative aging maintenance
Benefits
• Deep hydration — HA is delivered below the skin’s surface for lasting moisture at a structural level
• Collagen stimulation — micro-injuries trigger your skin’s repair response, building new collagen over time
• Smoother texture — pores appear smaller, rough patches soften
• Plumper, bouncier skin — fine lines diminish and skin regains suppleness
• Minimal downtime — most clients are back to their routine within 24–48 hours
• Safe for all skin tones — lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation compared to more aggressive resurfacing options.
What to Expect
Before: Arrive with clean skin. A topical numbing cream is applied for 20–30 minutes prior to treatment.
During: The microneedling device passes over the treatment area while HA serum is applied continuously. Treatment time is approximately 45–60 minutes.
After:
• Days 1–2: Redness and mild sensitivity. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. Avoid actives (retinol, acids).
• Days 3–5: Redness resolves. Skin may feel tighter and look more luminous.
• Weeks 2–4: Texture and hydration begin to visibly improve as collagen remodeling gets underway.
• Months 1–3: Full results become apparent.
Most clients do a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
This treatment is a great fit for most adults looking to improve skin quality without significant downtime. It is not recommended during active skin infections, open wounds, or pregnancy. A provider consultation is included with every new patient appointment so we can review your full history before treating.

What Is It?
Microneedling with PRP — platelet-rich plasma — takes standard microneedling to a clinical level. A small sample of your own blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, which are naturally packed with growth factors. That concentrated plasma is then applied during your microneedling session, absorbing directly into the micro-channels for targeted skin regeneration.
Because PRP is derived from your own body, there is no foreign substance — just your own biology doing the work.
At Renewal Lab, PRP microneedling is performed by a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience.
What It Treats
• Acne scars and deep textural irregularities
• Fine lines and moderate wrinkles
• Skin laxity and loss of firmness
• Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
• Dull, tired-looking complexion
• Hair thinning (scalp application)
• Under-eye crepiness
Benefits
• Amplified collagen production — growth factors in PRP supercharge the skin’s natural repair response beyond what microneedling alone can achieve
• Faster cellular turnover — platelets signal the skin to regenerate more aggressively
• Improved skin tone and firmness — patients typically see more dramatic lifting and tightening than with standard microneedling
• Natural, biocompatible — no synthetic additives; your own plasma is the active ingredient
• Effective for scars and deeper concerns — PRP’s regenerative power makes it particularly well-suited for acne scarring and more advanced signs of aging
• Cumulative results — improvements continue building for weeks after each session.
What to Expect
Before: Arrive well-hydrated and avoid blood thinners (ibuprofen, alcohol) for 24–48 hours prior if possible. A small blood draw is performed at the start of your appointment.
During: Blood is drawn, spun in a centrifuge to isolate the PRP, and then applied during microneedling. Topical numbing is applied prior to treatment. Total appointment time is approximately 60–75 minutes.
After:
• Days 1–3: More pronounced redness than standard microneedling is normal. Avoid makeup for 24 hours. Keep skin clean and protected.
• Days 4–7: Redness resolves. Some patients notice peeling or tightness as skin begins to turn over.
• Weeks 2–6: Significant texture improvement and increased firmness become visible.
• Months 2–3: Full regenerative results are apparent, especially for scarring and laxity.
Most clients complete a series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months are recommended.

How PRP Compares to HA
Both treatments use microneedling as the delivery mechanism — the difference is what goes in.
Hyaluronic Acid is ideal for hydration, mild texture concerns, and maintenance. It is a great entry point and has virtually no additional recovery time.
PRP is the stronger clinical option. It is better suited for acne scarring, more significant laxity, and patients who want the most regenerative outcome possible. It involves a blood draw and slightly more downtime.
